Preawa is a student at University of Auckland studying science major statistic before she got to study in this major she had a hard time studying medicine she had 2 choices to study dental school in Thailand and a scholarship from Thai government to studying medicine in NZ. Normally Thai parents expect their children to study hard and be a doctor, a dentist, or an engineer. Praewa was one of the top ten student in high school. She’s very smart and her mom wanted her to study abroad and she didn’t know what she really want to choose at that point so that’s why she came hereOn her first year in university, she didn’t enjoy learning anything because she found that being a doctor is not what she’s gonna do for the rest of her life. It was a stressful situation and that effect he health at the same time. She worried that if she quit this major she would not be able to study in business area but in the mean time she didn’t wanna give up on her scholarship she already got. After that she still didn’t give up yet, she came back to thailand during summer break, told her mom that she didn’t feel like studying and her mom took her to the hospital and let her observe the environment and the people who work there to try if she really dont want to be in that environment and turned out she still has the same answer so she changed her majorAt the time she was struggling she’ve met Thai student association which is a club belongs to university she felt like she was home because she was able to share problems and help each other go through it, the activities they provided are also relate to Thai culture. She’s so grateful for all helpful friends and everything she got from this club, so this year she has the aim of being the leader and give back an amazing experience to the thai student in next generation and she got elected

now she’s doing very well being a leader she studies hard and also keep herself busy with her part time jobs, a staff at Thai restaurant and personal tutor for thai students
